Overall Best Time to Visit Ibiza

As with any place you’re traveling, the best time to visit is based on your preferences. That being said, most people would agree that the overall best time to visit Ibiza is from June to September.
These summer months are tourist season for the island. The weather in Ibiza from June to September is warm and comfortable, and the sun shines for longer.
Rainfall is minimal to nonexistent during these months, meaning you shouldn’t have to worry about rain putting a damper on your boat or beach plans.
To help you understand why this is a great time to visit weather-wise, here are Ibiza’s average temperatures:
- June: High of 79° F and a low of 64° F
- July: High of 84° F and a low of 69° F
- August: High of 85° F and a low of 71° F
- September: High of 80° F and a low of 66° F
Keep in mind that these are average temperatures. The highs might be higher, and the lows could potentially be lower, but this should give you a general idea of what it will feel like during peak season.
Since June through September is peak tourist season, be prepared for restaurants, clubs, and attractions to be very busy and open well into the morning.
May and October are in second place for the best time to visit Ibiza because they’re less busy than the tourist season, but temperatures are still comfortable for most people.
Cheapest Time to Visit Ibiza

Ibiza can be a pricey island to visit, especially during peak tourist season, but you can get fantastic deals if you visit from November through April.
November through April tend to be when most people aren’t visiting Ibiza, so hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, and more will offer lower prices to entice people to visit their beautiful island.
While you can likely get better prices on attractions and activities, keep in mind that many of the things you want to do might be closed since it’s the off-season. Depending on where you’re flying from, getting to Barcelona to take the ferry or flying directly into Ibiza might be far cheaper too.
For example, flying from Barcelona to Ibizia in November costs about $41 round trip, while taking a flight from the same airport through the same airline in July is $62 round trip.
While the price difference isn’t drastic for this short flight, it should give you an idea of the higher cost in Ibiza during peak season.
As long as you don’t mind cooler temperatures and some places potentially being closed, visiting during this time can offer you a very affordable trip to Ibiza. While this is typically the cheapest time to visit, that doesn’t mean you can’t find great deals during other times of the year too.
Least Busy Time to Visit Ibiza

If you want to visit the island but don’t want to deal with large crowds, you can visit from November to April. These months tend to be the least busy regarding the number of tourists in Ibiza.
November through April is when the temperatures cool off in Ibiza, which is why many people don’t visit. Most people want to take advantage of the warm weather and sunshine in Ibiza, so visiting when it’s cooler and potentially rainy isn’t on everyone’s list.
The positive thing about visiting Ibiza during this time is that you shouldn’t have difficulty finding a great place to stay, getting reservations at popular restaurants, or waiting in long lines to go on tours or for other attractions.
November through April is the ideal time to visit for those who don’t want to hit the party scene. Sure, there are parties still happening across the island, but overall the vibe of the island is more peaceful from November through April.
Since Ibiza runs mainly on tourism, don’t be surprised if the locals shut down their stores earlier or entirely at some point during November through April. Most things should still be open, but it’s something to think about if you want to visit during the least busy time.
Worst Time to Visit Ibiza

There aren’t really any bad times to visit Ibiza, but if we had to choose, the off-season from November to April would be the worst time to visit. These months are considered the off-season for tourism, so there aren’t nearly as many visitors.
What makes November through April the worst time to visit is the weather. Rain is expected during these months, which can put a damper on your beach or boat plans, but the temperatures also cool down.
These are some average temperatures in Ibiza during this time:
- November: High of 66° F and a low of 52° F
- December: High of 61° F and a low of 47° F
- January: High of 59° F and a low of 45° F
- February: High of 60° F and a low of 46° F
- March: High of 62° F and a low of 48° F
- April: High of 66° F and a low of 51° F
These aren’t exactly beach weather temperatures, so if that’s why you want to visit Ibiza, then this isn’t the time to do so. If you prefer cooler temperatures and are visiting Ibiza for reasons other than lounging on the beach, then you might think these are the perfect months to visit.
Things to Consider
No matter what you want to do when you visit Ibiza, there are several things you’ll want to think about before you pack your bags and head to the airport.
These are some of the main things we think you should consider as you plan your trip to the island of Ibiza:
- How You’ll Get There: There are flights constantly going to Ibiza, mainly from Spain, but you don’t have to fly into Ibiza if you don’t want to. A ferry from Barcelona will take you directly to the island, but it takes a lot longer than flying. Either way, it’s something to think about.
- Choose Your Accommodation in Advance: Ibiza is a very popular destination, so securing a place to sleep ahead of time is necessary, especially during the peak tourist season.
- Getting Around: Public transportation is plentiful and easy to navigate in Ibiza. You can use taxis, buses, and boats. You don’t necessarily need to think about this ahead of time, but it’s essential to think about it.
- How Much You Want To Spend: Ibiza can be pretty pricey, especially during tourist season. Think about how much you’re willing to spend and budget your money accordingly so you can still make the most of your trip.
- Book Activities in Advance: Depending on what you want to do, you might need to book tickets and other activities well before you arrive on the island.
- Pack Sunscreen: Sunscreen is a must, especially if you’re visiting during the peak tourist season. The last thing you want is a sunburn to make your time in Ibiza painful.
