Teaching English to Refugee Children in Perth
Work as an assistant teacher in the school’s Intensive English Centre (IEC), which enables refugee children to learn English and adapt to the Australian education system before entering mainstream education. Class sizes vary between 10 and 15 children in each IEC class and you will be teaching children between the ages of 4 and 12. You can also teach subjects like Sports, Music, Drama, Maths and Art.

ECUADOR:
Teach English to Disadvantaged Children in Quito
Teach in a Government school that has about 500 pupils aged from 3 to 12 years old. The children come from many different economic backgrounds and family situations. You'll be able to teach English and IT, sports, music, art, drama, anything you have a reasonable knowledge in. You don't need any qualifications.

Teach Children in Schools in the holiday resort of Knysna
Teach disadvantaged children in township schools in the beautiful coastal resort town of Knysna. Generally you'll teach conversational English, but also other academic subjects if you'd like to, as well as Sports, Drama, Arts and Music. The choice is yours.You can choose to work with primary or secondary schools.
You'll begin by assisting the teacher, but you may, depending on your ability and your confidence, take classes on your own. Class sizes can range between 15 and 40 students.

Teach Music, Dance and Drama to Children in Knysna
Inspire poor township children. You may have the opportunity to put together plays or musical performances by the children in front of their parents and other visitors. This is a great project and you'll do some or all of the following:

  • Organising drama workshops in local schools.
  • Organising an after-school drama club.
  • Helping the local school children to put on a small-scale productions where they can be involved (either acting, creating costumes, masks, set or make-up).
  • Devising and performing educational pieces of theatre (on topical issues, such as bullying).
  • You could also help out with English classes or other subjects.

Teach and Care For Children with Physical Disabilities and Special Needs in Cape Town (VN)
Assist in a primary school for children with various disabilities or special needs. Some of today’s pupils have cerebral palsy, others have other syndromes or conditions such as muscular dystrophy, multiple physical impairment, ADHD and specific learning disabilities. You'll work in five different areas, including class aide, 'scribe' administration, libary and generally filling in wherever you're needed

This project is located near the famous Wasgamuwa Game Park - A truly cultural Sri Lankan Experience! Teaching in Wasgamuwa is varied with ages ranging from about 8 - 40. Your students will be an eclectic collection - from school children to monks and park wardens! And lessons are fun and often include a heavy environmental component. For example, you'll take your students on field trips to watch birds, and you may even be asked to teach the basics of natural history in general and anything about elephants!
