Price: £1,395 without accommodation (approx. US$1,800) for 6 weeks or longer, regardless of length of time
£3,250 with accommodation (approx. US$4,225) for 6 weeks

Your Internship will be tailored to suit your own requirements


As an advertising intern, you may be asked to:

  • Prepare booking forms for the sales team.
  • Co-ordinate aspects of the sales team's live advertising campaigns.
  • Research prospective information for proposals and presentations.
  • Support the sales team by preparing presentations and sales collateral.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand client's advertising and marketing objectives and ensure outcomes are achieved.
  • Assist with input and maintenance of effective CRM systems.Support the marketing and events team in the organisation and management of events.

Brand Management

Brand Management involves managing the physical and non-physical aspects of a brand. In the case of product brands, the physical aspects relate to the product itself, such as price, packaging etc., while in the case of service brands, the physical aspects refer to the customers' experience. The non-physical aspects include emotional connections with the product/service. You may be asked to:

  • Support the agency in launching its new visual identity.
  • Establish the agency brand through overseeing website and brochure copy content creation.
  • Develop social media content.
  • Develop media relations (content and publicity).
  • Develop the database.
  • Contribute to brainstorming tactics.

Event Management

Event Management in Australia is an extremely popular internship. The role description for one of the previous interns doing an Event Management Internship was as follows:

  • ​Assist in the organisation of the V8 Scratchies sellers – i.e. booking of accommodation, flights, car hire, couriers, attending V8 events throughout the internship period, a chance to travel around Australia and work on car racing events.
  • Assist the event manager, source fundraising items/experiences and goodie bag items for all events, maintain prize/stock inventory for both the accounts department and events department, manage the storage of items, assist the event manager with the preparation of event materials, including event summaries, photographs and artwork.
  • Work with the Event Manager on seating plans, prepare all forms for events (including raffle, silent auction, wish list and live auction), assist with themes and decoration, field calls and enquiries regarding events, and customer service for event related enquiries.
  • Administration of all events: mail merge and generation of letters, proposals and mail outs, attend all events, maintenance of hard copy event files for companies approached, development and maintenance of an electronic system that can be accessed by all relevant people, coordination of smaller corporate events and non fundraising events, pro activity, reliability, punctuality and attention to detail, strong MS skills including power point, word and excel.

Market Research

Some of the tasks that may be asked of a Market Research intern are:

  • In-country research identifying key target customers, positioning and sales volume expectation.
  • Researching price settings to establish a sustainable price range.
  • Researching and writing blog posts on international trade activities.
  • Researching international trade information and data for use in trade publications.

Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimisation predominantly falls into two categories: Onsite and Offsite. Onsite refers to the website's content and infrastructure, so you will be seeking to improve by:

  • Targeting the best keyword clusters.
  • Matching existing content to target specific keyword clusters.
  • Creating new content to target specific keyword clusters.
  • Having the best website infrastructure and architecture.


When arranging your Internship, we will also liaise with you regarding whether or not you'd like to use our existing accommodation or arrange your own. The choice is yours.

Our Sydney accommodation is located around 10km from the CBD, in a foodie suburb with lots of restaurants and cafes. The area has a community feel, and there are bus stops and a train station nearby so you can easily reach the CBD.

Your room comes fully furnished with:

  • A bed + wardrobe and desk + chair
  • A kitchenette with a microwave and a fridge
  • Flat-screen TV
  • Free WiFi

In our accommodation, you'll have all the facilities you need:

  • Including a 24/7 onsite management team
  • The latest in building security
  • Communal living areas, including dining area and outdoor BBQ
  • Access to a gym and outdoor pool
  • Shared access to bathroom facilities which are located outside your bedroom
  • Laundry facilities and big shared kitchen.

Our Melbourne accommodation is located in the city centre where plenty shops, restaurants and bars can be found. There is a tram station in front of the accommodation and the train station is just 5 minutes away.

Your room will be furnished with:

  • A comfortable bed + wardrobe
  • A desk and chair
  • Heat/air conditioning
  • LCD TV

The apartment has:

  • ​A kitchenette with cook top
  • A bar fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave
  • Bathroom facilities
  • Weekly housekeeping
  • Free Wifi

You can use the shared facilities in the building such as the swimming pool and the gym.

Food is not provided in this programme, but your accommodation will have cooking facilities.

Once you have applied for a placement, we'll contact you and send you our Welcome Pack. You'll also receive Log-on details and password for our Volunteer Extranet where you'll have access to all the documentation and information which we've put together to facilitate preparations for your adventure! Your Project Co-ordinator for your country will liaise with you throughout the arrangements process, as well as while you're on your placement and on your return home.

The documents you'll have access to also include a Country Factfile, Safety Guide and any manuals that may assist you on your particular programme (e.g. Teaching Guide, Sports Manuals, Enrichment Suggestions for Animal Care, etc.). We do all we can to make your stay one that you'll never forget. This is a truly awesome, elegant and beautiful country.


Food: We suggest around $60 per week for food.

Transportation: around $25 per week for travel within the main Wellington area.
