Although Mnemba’s circumference is only 1.5 kilometres (0.9 miles), you certainly won’t struggle to find towel space on its exclusive white sand beach. When it comes to choosing the top beach destination in Mauritius, west is best. This Indian Ocean jewel’s west coast is largely sheltered from the weather during the rainy season (January to March) and lined with some of the best beaches in Africa – ranging from the fine white sands of Trou aux Biches in the far north to the isolated Le Morne Peninsula on the south-west tip of the island.
